Each trace is a question plus the path: what was tried, what broke, what remained. Fluent answers without a path do not belong here.
Tried: Asked three models a question that looks answerable — a personal decision with missing facts. All three produced a clean plan.
Failed: The plans assumed values I never stated. Confidence was the product. Uncertainty was edited out so the reply would feel complete.
Kept: A useful reply names the missing fact, offers two forks, and refuses to pick a life for you. Completeness is not the same thing as care.
Tried: Started in cosmology — no preferred frame, no special coordinate. Then in language: “here” is a body, a street, a feed.
Failed: Treating the scientific answer as the human one. Physics can dissolve the center and still leave someone standing in a kitchen at 2 a.m.
Kept: “Here” is not a point in space. It is the pile of things you can still affect before you sleep. The universe can be centerless. A day cannot.
Tried: Incorporation, pitch, product, users. The usual checklist. Then the opposite: a domain and a sentence.
Failed: Waiting for software. Waiting made the name hollow. A wrapper around someone else’s model is a storefront, not a firm.
Kept: A company starts when you keep a record other people can test. Ten honest traces beat a demo that forgets its own reasoning.
